Like the warning says, it's tough to get through. But as a novelty, it's great.

Jan & Dean meet Batman (the real record)

Jan and Dean Meet Batman front.jpg

This collection has skits that feature The Riddler, The Joker and a two-parter with The Penguin. After the skits were recorded, J&D were told that they had permission to record the music, but not the comedy bits. They had to trash them, but somebody went & snuck the tapes out of the dumpster! Three songs are also included.

What was released instead was Captain Jan & Dean The Boy Blunder

Jan and Dean's final album, the 1966 concept album "Jan and Dean Meet Batman" from Liberty Records. This recording came from a 1987 Bam Caruso import record.

It was a Batman-themed album mixed with music and comedy routines starring Jan and Dean.

This video features part one of the comedy routines all spliced together.

Not a record you could make today. Probably not a record that should have ever been made. This may be why West never toured with the All Starr Bat-Band

              Batman
              Mercury

              Release Date: 1966

              Conducted by Nelson Riddle

              Formats: CD, Vinyl

This is the first Batman 66 record I owned. It was amazing 10 years after the series ended going to record stores I was able to pick up most of the Batman records at affordable prices. Even back when I was in single digits I was collecting files (records) my collection.

Immediately-recognizable incidental music. I wonder what how the show would have fared with an all-Hefti score?

^That is interesting and totally new to me. Completely different from the Hefti bat-jazz album I have (on cassette, no less).

I lucked into finding the Hefti In Gotham City album at an antique mall about 10 years ago. Some interesting tracks on there, meant to evoked the little ethnic sections of Gotham that we never saw on the series...or in the comics of the time!

My favorite is Robin's Egg Blues.

Yeah this one is pretty classic. Good background music when I'm working on nerd projects in the basement. The '66 movie soundtrack is great for that, too.
