Return to the Planet of the Apes – Soldier Ape

Five and half years later I finally get around to finishing another animated Ape!

Like Urko, he's a multi-decade hybrid of custom-bits-fun. With the Gorillas now together, guess Zaius is gonna have to come next, and whole lot faster.

So colorful, and i like the custom heads--those surprised me.

With what are you painting the tunic pleather?

^^ Liquitex professional grade acrylics, done in three layers to form a flexible permanent bond. Same custom green used on the tunic, gloves, boots, and leather bando in varying tones to get some dimension in the character.

You did such a great job on these and it makes me want to at least try to cobble together a few customs from the animated series. My first exposure to POTA was the TV series, the cartoon, Marvel Comics, and Mego and they were all around the same time. That was my idea of POTA long before I ever saw the movies. And POTA was probably the last big "property" for me before Star Wars came along so it will always be very special to me.

All of that to say "Bravo and Great Job!!!".
