Instead of trying to draw attention to yourself in front of a national audience and looking like a thug, Smith should of just tweeted out a comment or spoke out to reporters after and asked for an apology, but that would have been the adult thing to do.

Will tried to laugh it off but Jada gave him the "look" that means are you going to defend my honor, so he followed her cues. Now Will could have handled it off camera, but he also could have pouched the man out. Then again there is that rumor going around that this was staged.

As a person who is dating/living with a person of color that "look" means do something of no nookie. It may not be right but it happens.

This idiot was holding in a lot of rage. His Wife publicly made him out to be a cuck. His musical career never panned out the way he wanted it to. He wanted to be Ice Cube, but was seen as Vanilla Ice. Yeah, he made money, but not the way he wanted to. I can understand why there's a rumor this was staged. Even after playing Ali, nobody saw this clown as being hard, so maybe he got desperate.

I never had the impression that Will wanted to be like Ice Cube... Nothing I have ever heard from him on the radio had any type of 'edge' to it, to give off a 'gangsta rap' vibe... It was all 'happy rap'...

As far as someone who might have wanted to be like Ice Cube, look no further than MC Hammer, who all of a sudden tried to look hard core or whatever after the fame of 'U Can't Touch This'.

Not to defend a terrible joke, but what I've heard is that Chris Rock didn't know about Jada's condition. That may or may not be true, but given he was assaulted before he could comment about it, we'll never know. The joke then goes from mean to merely stupid. Will needed to take it off stage. That's still defending his wife, and not made him look like a common bullying thug.
