Quite a good show, Cena is definitely the weakest link, but being cast as a putz helps bring out the "best" in him in that regard. He's certainly not terrible.

James Gunn can do no wrong. It's the smart writing and character development that makes this show and that's all Gunn.

      Christopher Smith a.k.a. Peacemaker
      Comic Book bio:
Pacifist diplomat Christopher Smith is the Peacemaker, a man who loves peace so much, he is willing to kill anyone who stands in its way.

      TV Show bio:
A merciless killer who believes in achieving peace at any cost. Showrunner James Gunn described the character as a "superhero/supervillain/[the] world's biggest ******bag".
Thanks for this. I always really appreciate when you do this for those of us not familiar with the comics background of new shows. Now I just have to go check it out.

I am ashamed to admit that I never connected the dots that Peacemaker's friend Adrian / Vigilante was supposed to be Adrian Chase. It is such a goofy take on the character.

Admittedly, I mostly know the character from Arrow... which I know was not very faithful to the comics either.

          1987 Vigilante

          RCO001_1463423894.jpgvigilante 36.jpg

After watching Peacemaker I had to dig out my old run of Vigilante (1987) issues 36 - 38 & 41 - 43 & let's just say they were not exactly best friends

Has anyone tried to make a custom of Vigilante? would look pretty cool.

I had to come back and thank you all for recommending this series. I only watched 2 eps, but I'm loving it! It's hilarious! I think having absolutely no connection with the source material allows me to watch without expectation.

This has been my favorite show in quite a while. Smartly written characters, sharp dialogue, and extremely inappropriate humor.

What a great show. Raunchy, irreverent, but honestly touching, and also timely in many ways. Can't wait for more.

My request is that James Gunn us more Charlton Heroes in the series. Also that we find out that the Judomaster in the show is actually Tiger is partner who has taken over the name.

^That ad with Tarzan is funny, because Charlton assumed Tarzan was in the public domain and launched a comic. They were quickly sent a C&D by Edgar Rice Burroughs' Estate.
