So, my latest obsession is Ideal's JLA Batman. That's how I stumbled upon Catman from Wilton's wonderful world of cake. I believe the Wilton piece is basically a slightly larger version of Ideal's, made in the mid 70's, with a darker paint job and different base. Whole lotta' awesome in both pieces.

My mother used to do a lot of cake decorating when I was a wee lad in the 70s. I had that topper when I was like 6 or 7 I believe. I had the teepee set from #1 at some point as well. She used to frequent a cake decorating shoppe the next town over and I would see all kinds of things like these on display when I went with her.

Well it is good to see that the lawyers for DC Comics or NPP or whomever were able to be completely stymied by changing Batman to Catman. Perhaps they should have also sold Sobin as a companion piece. Perhaps Tuperman. And of course Xonder Xoman.Comment

It’s particularly interesting that later, NPP would give Wilton multiple licenses for DC properties. You would think that the “CATMAN” would have them frozen out indefinitely.sigpicSWEAR TO ME!Comment
