Computer question - from a super-stupid guy

First off, I wish computer people would stop making updates I don't understand.

Ok, here's the deal

I think I have Microsoft --- something

My FAVS (specifically Mego Museum) and most other actions are on the left side of my screen.

For the past 6-ish months been bombarded with adds to update

NO THANK YOU (being set in my ways)

Looks like it finally happened tonight (without my approval) ...

Microsoft --- please stop being a complete super-- *******

Strange. I never get any ads telling me to upgrade. I'm still using Windows 7.

Only do Mego Museum forums and Wikipedia ... Why do I need to upgrade for that ?

windows 7 is no longer supported, i get those notices a lot too, but when i try to update it always fails, so i don't bother anymore. i do need a new computer though, mine is at least 10 years old
