1987 Collegeville Halloween Costume Catalog The “Smock and Mask” costumes made famous by companies like Ben Cooper and Collegeville were still going full steam ahead in the 1980s. This was the era of action figures and toys have a full media assault of cartoons, comics and merchandise. The 1987 Collegeville Halloween Costume catalog reflects this […]

I love it when you post these. It's like a Halloween tradition at this point.

I had that vampire stretch stocking mask! it was indeed, very creepy. I had a it for a few years, but as you can imagine, it got runs in it, like stockings!

It's always interesting to see companies using imagery associated with a license they don't have. That's clearly Lon Chaney Jr. as the Wolf Man on that Werewolf smock!

They had real high hopes for Photon didn't they? Merchandising Rambo to kids that young is still kind of creepy to me.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

It doesn't help that the Rambo mask appears giant on that kid's head.

I remember as a kid you were either in the Photon camp, or the Lazer Tag camp. I was a Lazer Tag guy myself. I had the vest and gun, and my friends had the guns. We thought Photon was a rip-off, although I believe Photon arenas predated Lazer Tag ones, correct? Lazer Tag ended up becoming the generic name for this type of thing, though.

So...Photon was the Go-Bots of the laser target game system. It came first...but was quickly usurped.

              I always love these.
Such fond memories of wearing those costumes when I was a kid.
Wish someone would do adult sized ones now.
