    Nosferatu the Vampire (1979)

First off, i'll say I never did see the original (beyond a few short clips).

Silent movies aren't my thing --- I get too bored very quickly and I hate reading subtitles.

That said, Nosferatu the Vampire (1979) was pure genius !!!

The atmosphere, the musical score --- a story nothing like Bela's version.

    Special Kudos to Klaus Kinski

I always thought he was a little "weird" and he was born to play this roll

Easily, my favorite Dracula/Vampire movie EVER !!! --- 5 stars

Why isn't this movie more popular today ?

And on television; anyone else remember Michael Nouri as Count Dracula from NBC’s short-lived Cliffhangers ?

I love this movie, but it's one I don't watch often because of how good it is.
To me, it's the only version that shows the wretched existence and loneliness of being a vampire.

There is no romanticism to Kinski's vampire. It's truly a fate worse than death, that no sane person could ever long for.
The turning of Harker at the end is just depressing.

Yes, great underseen movie. I don’t know if you could find a better actor than Kinski for this role.
