I'm not against that gangland interpretation of Penguin at all, just specific characterization details in the trailer. Some of it strikes me as a bit lazy and frankly untrue to some core elements of the character.
But, what do I know? I'm almost 54 and haven't read Batman comics in over 15 years. To me, there are theatrics to superheroes--they wear costumes and have personas after all--and this is especially true of Batman. I really like what I'm seeing. Getting major Batman: Year One vibes off it, especially that shot at dawn/sunset, whichever it is.
