Mint off Card looks at the latest from Mego, the Hammer Van Helsing as portrayed by Peter Cushing. This wave 13 figure is one of two Hammer figures this wave and highly anticipated. I mean Dracula has been getting a little lonely.

Great presentation! I especially appreciate where he's facing off with a lineup on the Undead lead by Cousin Barnabas.

Not sure who the figure is at the tail end of that lineup, but he would make a terrific vampire version of Ben Stokes.

Great stuff. This figure is kind of a fantasy come true for me also, although I think I am more stoked for the Baron Frankenstein I am hoping to see.
The Van Helsing pic is from Satanic Rites of Dracula when he confronts Denham. aka Dracula. That movie was/is public domain so maybe that has something to do with the use of that image. Speaking of wish fulfillment I said in another thread I was going to make an extra Van Helsing into Dr. Banning from the Mummy. Then they announced the Topps Hammer Mummy. Pretty sweet.

Great review! Still waiting on my Van Helsing figure to arrive. The wait is like a kind of slow torture, more akin to a Corman Poe film than a Hammer one!

I've heard a few people say it doesn't look like Cushing because he's too full faced, but obviously they are going for the younger, healither Cushing as seen in The Horror of Dracula. He even has the coat he gives to the little girl when she's nearly attacked by vampirized Lucy ("There now. You look like a teddy bear".). I think Sean Sansom nailed that period in Cushing's life and career. Bravo!!!
