    Next Generation Bridge

I picked up several of the DST Riker with command chair on ebay since they are being blown out so cheap. Modified a couple and used the removed arm rests to make the computer terminals to go along side Riker and Troi's chairs. I'm still waiting for my Mego Riker to be delivered. Working on Worf's station next

That is an amazing idea and extremely well done. I'm impressed and bit jealous. I may end up trying to duplicate your efforts for display on my end. Thank you for sharing.

i got the idea of modifying the command chair from someone on the Facebook group. the arm rests are glued in. 3 of the 4 came out relatively easy with some gentle moving back and forth and then pulling. the other one broke. i then filled in the holes with wood putty and painted it. i was trying to think what to do for the computer terminals and then it came to me to just glue the arm rests together and then cut a piece of wood to set them on. i filled in with wood putty, sanded and painted, and voila. the command chairs with Riker are being sold on ebay for 8.99 each right now, i think it is from New Force Comics as the seller

Thank you for letting me know how you did it. I went ahead and grabbed 3 of them so I can do this project as well.

That looks awesome! I really like the terminals. Is the width of those 3 combined less than 15", by any chance?

inside the cabinet, you cannot have the terminals to the side of the chair as it should be, but you can make it work

This is a very cool idea, I can just hear Picard giving the order to engage.

working on the helm stations. thanks to mwwestphd for some ideas on building these from scratch. i experimented and went with foam board for the chairs and base instead of mdf. pine for the terminal and old clamshell casing for the actual computer. still have to finish painting and add the computer decals i printed up

So the arms, did you just work them back and forth until they popped off, wedge them with a small blade? I don't want to damage the remaining plastic on the chair too much.

i used a small screw driver to pry them off, using leverage, not sticking it into the plastic
