EMCE Night Of The Living Dead

After watching Elvira's Movie Macabre Night Of The Living Dead tonight it made me think could Mego reuse there molds from the EMCE and offer them with more characters under the New Mego lineup?

I have Barbara and the little girl, but I still haven't gotten Ben or the zombie. Paid for them once, but I got ripped off. I thought about how I would do a custom of Barbara's brother, but I'm not totally sure which other characters I would want as Megos. I would love to see the two guys re-issued through Topps.

The Walking Dead turned into an 8" line would be pretty cool. Forget reusing the existing molds, give us some all new stuff in classic Mego fashion.

These were offered way before I got started with doing Svengoolie or Elvira so I never even thought about getting them when they first came out.

i don't think they sold very well. it bought Barbara and the little girl at the NY Comic Con from Dr Mego for like half off back in 2012. Ben and the zombie sold much better I guess but not enough to keep the line going

I have purchased them within the last year and found the little girl to be relatively expensive. The others are still pretty easy to get, even with low prices. That doesn't bode well for the line having any real popularity even after the initial release. It's a shame because I really like that line.

Yeah, they didn’t really sell well. So they could remake them, but I doubt they will bother.

I think with the popularity of zombie movies over this last decade, someone might have some luck releasing a small product line. However, even that window may have passed by 2 or 3 years. Such a shame as they are some really great characters out there that would have looked fantastic immortalized in plastic.

Might be a good choice for Topps.

Ben and the Zombie would sell well, the others, not so much.

They had poor distribution back then and there wasn't much of a market at the time.

I'm glad to still have mine.

When these came out I wasn't into collecting the Horror Megos. It wasn't until I started with Svengoolie & Elvira that I wanted to start to collect them.
