Your thoughts on water damaged cards

It would be hard to let them stay in the package, i look at it as mint loose figures.

My primary collection is MOC / MIB though I do have a loose collection of some of my favorite figures. I would not want these in my collection looking like that. I would open them for sure.

Those are kinda gross. Even as openers I'd say it's a bit iffy on the figures being mint. I'd be surprised if the shield inserts were undamaged.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I often buy stuff like this just to crack open.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Earlier this year, I sold an Athena BSG from Bif Bang Pow! on eBay. The bottom of the card had some water damage, though fortunately not much as it was stored upright. I wrote in the description that the figure was mint, which it was, while the card was damaged. I think I noted it was perfect for openers, which it was. It did well at acution, so clearly the message resonated with at least two people.
