TV Dinners I miss

Remember when TV dinners were in a foil container ?

They tasted so much better back then

Swanson fried chicken dinners were incredibly tasty and awesome back then

Today they're just a soggy mess of Soylent Green

Libby Land !!! ……… anybody remember Libby Land TV Dinners ???

They came with either a little hotdog or hamburger …

My fav (forgot the brand name), was a Mexican TV dinner

It had Spanish Rice … and a few Mexican favs my spell-check has no idea what i'm talking about

There was a Chinese one I used to like too

Why did company's stop making these ?

I can't be the only person who liked them

That sounds so good.

I think I like the turkey a lot.

I like some kind of frozen cherry dessert in the center top of the tray.

Frozen pot pies ruled.

A lot of different entrees were good.

The vegetables always seemed good.

It makes me want to get what the astronauts were eating in 2001 - A Space Odyssey.

Another thing …

Swanson used to always have good corn as a side

Had little red speckles in it --- maybe peppers ?

Today, I swear their using field corn

Sweet corn and field corn have distinct differences and i'm wise to it.

Their mashed potatoes … they used to taste like average instant potato-flakes mashed …

Today they have the consistency of a freshly poured beer head

Put a little butter on them and you have mush

Pot pies

Forget about them

All store frozen pot pies are cr_p

They're always overload with carrots ……. I used to like carrots --- in moderation, but today's Banquet pot pies made me totally HATE them.

If anybody wants a pot pie that tastes like they used to, get a Mr. Pastie

If your not in the PA area check and see if they ship

I remember two main brands of mexican dinners that I cant find anymore...El Ranchero and Patio. I liked El Ranchero better. The Beef Enchilada dinner was a great deal for a buck.

There use to be a line of seafood TV dinners. I miss those.

As a latch-key kid who's Ma waited tables at night, I remember heating up plenty of TV dinners, pulling back the foil on those apple desserts.

I immediately thought of Libbyland. I don't think the food was any less soggy than a lot of other TV dinners, but I did love their kid-focused themes.

I've never been a picky eater and never minded the convenience of the old TV Dinner, here and there. I remember liking Swanson's Fish and Chips and El Charrito Saltillo and El Charrito Cheese Enchilada Dinners. Long about high school age, I kept a bunch of Patio frozen burritos on-hand in the deep freeze. Ate those for lunch or afternoon snack a couple of times a week.
