Restoring the 89 Batwing and The Saddest Batman Ever

Special effects designer Adam Savage gives viewers a tour of the restored Batwing, a quarter-scale model of the aircraft from Tim Burton's Batman.

Video with Adam Savage of the quarter scale Batwing from the 89 movie after a restoration. And the shot where puppet Batman turned his head just looked so sad to me.

This is a Batman that smells of regret and cheap store brand bourbon.

It's a great model, and nice to see it restored and in good condition. To digress a bit, most fans of Star Trek TOS know the original full sized Galileo shuttlecraft was in terrible condition, and was beautifully restored about 8 years ago. The shuttlecraft was donated to Space Center Houston. They've never quite known what to do with it, so the shuttle's next mission will be up in Ticodaroga NY at the Star Trek Tours exhibit. That permament exhibit contains a masterful recreation of the TOS sets from the sixties, and it well worth the trip to the middle of nowhere. I'm not sure about the dates of when they're going to have it, but it's sooner than later.
