    Fantasy Island 2021

Fantasy Island s1 ep1 Hungry Christine/Mel Loves Ruby (8pm central)
A local morning show host has a simple fantasy: she wants to eat, until she realizes she's hungry for much more than food. Ruby Akuda, who's afflicted with a terminal illness & given a new lease on life.

Tonight starts up the new series:
A modern drama series, FANTASY ISLAND takes place at a luxury resort, where literally any fantasy requested by guests is fulfilled, although they rarely turn out as expected. The resort is run by Elena Rourke (Roselyn Sanchez), who set aside her own ambitions — and even the love of her life — to uphold her family’s legacy. Sophisticated, insightful and always charming, Elena’s calm exterior masks the challenges of the responsibilities she has assumed as steward of this mysterious island. Delving into the “what if” questions -- both big and small -- that keep us awake at night, each episode will tell emotional, provocative stories about people who arrive with dreams and desires and depart enlightened and transformed through the magical realism of Fantasy Island.

And for those that prefer the original series, Tubi has all 7 seasons available for streaming on their online website for free (with ads)!

Dreams come true, for better or worse, in a tropical paradise, where a charming, enigmatic host and his diminutive assistant guide your magical visit.

Ugh--my DVR didn't record this. I thought I'd set it (and the one for next week is set to record), but I do see they are airing it again on Saturday, so I'll see how it goes then. Maybe this will be a success and help get the Malcolm McDowell version out there again.

My pleasure! I've been watching seasons 4-7 myself because those years haven't been released on DVD.

Well we just finished watching the new Fantasy Island and I like how they incorporate the original series with the new version. I like the new "Tattoo".

I REALLY loved and invested a lot of interest in the Malcolm McDowell version.

After that got poop-canned I have no interest in any new remakes.

Second episode aired tonight night and it is a fluff show. Boyfriend & I cuddle on the loveseat after watching Stargirl/Superman/Motherland watch the show enjoying the fact that we can zoom through commercials. To us it is escapism TV so we will be watching this for the rest of the season.

"Magical realism"? Do they even think about what they're saying? Hard pass.

No thank you. It's pretty stupid.

Like I said to us it just an escapism tv series that I do not have to twitter about. We watch it after it is recorded and skip commercials while cuddling up on the love seat. There are not a lot of shows where we can just watch for the fun of it anymore.

Comic books show I twitter about answering way to many questions, along with some of the sci-fi/supernatural shows, at times it feels like work. The subtitled tv series we watch have started to cause headaches after awhile by translating in my head or reading subtitles after a few hours.
