My list is pretty similar on wants. I’d like some astronauts, mutants, Zira, soldier apes, a rocket playset, and some playsets like the old ones, a forbidden zone, underground from beneath the planets of the apes, horses for the soldiers, Nova, etc…

As far as your wish list item of the four POTA astronauts, since she's not listed in your 'slave astronauts' list, I'm guessing you'd want Stewart as a healthy, living astronaut, and not the dead, mummified version of her?

Also, what is the significance of the red names in your lists? Are those your most desired characters?

Brian- You just want Virgil because of Paul Williams. A fine reason, actually! You really NAILED this review. I was thinking the exact same things just as you were saying them- the fact they finally did Caesar, the satisfying oranges and browns of the package art, the "Mego-ized" appeal the costume detail (chef's kiss!) , the angry new paint job, even the need for mutants! I have never pre-ordered figures before, but this guy and Ursus are forcing my hand

Yeah, I'd like her alive as the mummified version would have limited appeal beyond ornament… then you could recreate the classic ANSA promotional/pre-mission documentation. The femummy would be cool in a playset, but Mego has been consistent in saying that playsets and clothing/accessory packs do not work in their business model.

RED = must haves! Sorta stewing it down to the characters that best rep each group in relationship to what we already have.

The most important thing Mego can do is to keep releasing characters and variants that haven't been done before. Despite all the folks who say they just want another repro of vintage figures (which still remain readily available to collect at reasonable prices), I think this would be the far better option to build and maintain excitement for the brand over time. Medicom, Sideshow, NECA and Super7 have paved the way into expansion concepts… who better than Mego to write the definitive Apes-toys-chapter before we die!
