Which has caused all sorts of unfounded freak outs in the Mego community.

yeah which I don't understand, It's been very common for a while now for a property to have multiple license holders at a time. I hope they do a "retro" line of their most famous star trek figure line and continue with discovery, picard and strange new worlds. the NuTrek line though was really bad though.

Today is the day that Playmates will reveal their new Star Trek toys. As much as I would love to see a high quality 6 inch line with a lot of TOS in the mix and a retro line of the 4 1/2 figures that were never produced in the 90s I doubt it will happen. I suspect the line will be based mostly on the new shows that I could care less about.

I'm curious to see what they're do.

I think a return of their vintage line would be pretty awesome, but I doubt they'll do it.

Figures looks good. Like updates of the original Playmates figures.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

WOW ! I'm absolutely shocked that they are actually doing updates of their retro figures in retro packaging. Sure didn't expect that. I'm in ( for all TOS ). Starting strong with WOK. Sure hope these sell well so we can get a lot more characters.

I think they look good, but they're not really updates of their old figures. It's not quite MOTU Origins here.

They're similar, but scaled and designed different overall.

The retro packaging is pretty much the only retro element.

But I'm down for a few.

They have a retro vibe with more humanistic proportions. I loved the Playmates figures, but they had an odd clunkiness to them, like they couldn't quite let go of the TMNT aeshtetic.

I'm in for the TWOK figures at the very least.

That Phaser looks like a straight-up reproduction of their old one. I still have mine on display, as well as my TOS-related Playmates figures.

Yeah me too. I'm glad they didn't just keep the same design as the old line. I have boxes and boxes of those things. But TWOK era remains largely uncovered, so I'm in for a bit. I'm not sure I need another small scale Picard, though.

the new design looks better than the old clunkyness of the original line. most of the actor likenesses are really good too. though Data looks off. Kirk and Data are too thin too. they all look nice, but I think with the exception of Burnham, the recent Mego versions of each looks way better. But if smaller scale is your thing these look great

I really like the Enterprise ship, would love to have that in my collection.

I would hope for playsets too) the TNG bridge was amazing back in the day. And playmates got to almost everyone back then, I hope they can repeat that.

I will be checking these out. It will be nice to see some Trek on the shelves (other than Mego) again!
