    Toy Island Monsters

Toy Island Monsters I don’t normally have much to do with toys made in the 1990s but the Toy Island Monsters are an exception for me. Produced in 1993, these 8″ figures look a lot like Mego figures or perhaps like Mego Knock-Offs. Toy Island was formed in 1992 and a lot of their early […]

Those three ReMego usually go for series dollars on ebay, I really want one of the Howlers heads.

I remember those Video Command figures hanging on the pegs of our local Walmart when I worked there as a stockman during high school. If I had seen the Monsters, the Mego-ness of them would have required I buy them, no doubt!

That Swamp Monster game looks pretty sweet! His head is very Stretch Monster-like.

I remember a lot of toy island product but never the monsters. There were also playsets for the Cowboys and pirates that I'll share. Wonder if they got made?

Anyone remember Toy Island's Universal Monsters from 2006? Super nice Marvel Legends style figures with a giant build a figure Frank. Very underrated and obscure line.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Oh man, that series got lambasted by action figure "reviewers". That was such a fun set of Monster toys, yeah, they were generic but they were so fun. I bought a set for my kids (they only made 5k BTW) and they LOVED them.

I really dug them then and dig them now. As far as 'fun' goes, only the new Jada Toys Universal Monsters are on the same level of playability.
