No this is not normal Portland weather. They are saying its 1 in 1000 year event. However with climate change, we seem to be having a lot of 1 in 1000 year events all around the country in the last decade and will probably continue to get more frequent.

We have a heat advisory going until wednesday night, humidity index at 104, sweltering hot!
then we’re supposed to get heavy thunderstorms coming in later.

I can handle hot weather if it’s a dry heat, but humidity is just simply disgusting.

we're feeling it in NY as well. not quite as bad as Portland, but the heat index was 105 today. it is 96 out even now. and to top it off my central air crapped out during the night and they repair people can't come until tomorrow

So we had about 4 days of 95-99 degree heat and humidity, if I brought my mego’s outside they would have melted.

Last night throughout the night we got heavy thunderstorms and some very nasty lightning.

Today it’s in the lower 60’s chilly needed a light jacket.

Now I’m hearing there’s a hurricane heading our way next week, but who knows?

I really love lightning! I wish we had more lightning storms here.

AC, that’s what Farrah Fawcett Majors died of back in 2009 very sad. Any kind of cancer is such a terrible terrible thing.
