    Another ‘70s Icon

    Hi everyone,
Thanks for the great feedback on my Reb Brown Cap and Dirty Harry customs, but here is one more 1970s Icon to join the fray!

What do you all think of my custom Gabe Kotter figure?

Mr. Kotter is a vintage Mattel Kotter head (shrunk to Mego size thanks to Naphtha) on a type S body with all his original clothing and a briefcase courtesy of CTVT.

Hi hope you like him! Now I need to get the rest of the Sweathogs!

How long did you soak the Kotter head? It looks great.

Hi LonnieFisher, thank you for the positive feedback. I only soaked the Kotter day for a few days (I'd say three or four max). I checked it a few times each day and when it looked about right, I took it out of the Naphtha and washed it off. It took me another day or so before I got around to putting the figure together, and it looked as through the head had slightly shrunk a bit more making for the perfect Mego size.

Prior to this, I experimented by attempting to shrink a pair of Playmates, 9" Kirk and a Spock heads. I haven't used these heads for anything yet, but seeing as I had never used Naphtha before I wanted to experiment. Those heads took longer – they were probably soaking for a good week or more before I took them out. They still seemed a bit big, but after sitting on the shelf (free of the Naphtha) for a day, they too got even smaller and are now the perfect Mego size.

So far, this Naphtha has proven to be wonderful stuff!

Hi Ivanski... I didn't take any photos of the shrunken Kirk and Spock heads yet, but I will next time I get into my workshop and I will post them here... I don't have anything planned for them yet, but I am sure some more Star Trek customs will be coming soon.

Hello again, Ivanski and the rest of my Mego friends, as requested here is a photo that shows how well the Playmates Star Trek heads were able to shrink by using Naphtha.

An original Playmates Spock head is on the left beside another Spock and a Kirk head which I recently shrunk.
