the new trailer is much better. Looks interesting. I agree this movie is to lay the groundwork for the next big bad - Gallactus. FF and Xmen will likely get introduced next and start the set up for the final confrontation against Gallactus, probably in a FF movie, with all of the heroes coming together to fight him. Maybe with the multiverse we will even get the original core group of Avengers back for that

Second trailer does look way better.

But not dying to see it. I will eventually, but until Disney+ shows it at no extra charge, only through regular subscription.

The film will be 2 hours and 37 minutes long and will two important post credit scenes from what I’ve read.

Because of this, some idiots are on the internet saying Kirby's artwork is garbage. Ummm......yeah. I bet these same idiots grew up watching the Bruce Timm stuff. Who do they think Timm copied?

it's getting some mixed reviews, though they all seem to praise the acting and the visuals

No interest in this at all...I don't know who any of the characters are and nothing I've seen so far makes me care.

                    I'm Marveled out.

I will admit I'm less stoked about this one than any Marvel Studios film I can recall. However, my whole family loves the brand so much we'll go see it. I imagine Marvel/Disney is counting on the brand loyalty, and a few name cast members to get butts in seats for this one. Guardians of the Galaxy had that irreverent feel and rock soundtrack to sell it to the uninitiated.

The MCU has always been character-driven. Unfortunately, the trailers haven't really revealed much personality behind The Eternals for me to feel connected to any of these characters.

I can't muster much for this one. I read Eternals comics as a kid (Thanks to them being the middle comic in some Whitman 3 packs) and I remember liking the art but I can't name a single character.

Disney really should have taken those Kirby designs to an 11 here rather than mute them. Also, one of the cast is someone I can't stand, at all.

Apparently there’s an actual Superman reference in the Eternals.

                            280B4520-38B8-4823-9D35-E16EB6D25738.jpg

A child refers to the Eternal named Ikaris (Richard Madden) as “Superman,”

The child says to his father, Dad, that’s Superman!” Pointing at Ikaris. “With the cape, and you were shooting laser beams out of your eyes!”

To which Ikaris quips, “I don’t wear a cape.”

There’s also an Alfred (Batman) reference.

So obviously all DC characters are known in the MCU movies, but just as fictional characters, not real ones like Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor…

Why do I somehow know that you are referring to Kumail Nanjiani...

I had exactly the same experience.. specifically this issue. I remember reading it several times and struggling to wrap my head around the art and characters
