    RIP Charles Grodin

Always thought Charles Grodin's characters were like Bob Newhart's younger brother

Especially loved him in Dave with Kevin Kline

    RIP

I first remember seeing him in the The Great Muppet Caper. He seemed like an angrier Steve Martin to me at the time, and I guess that kind of fits.

I do recall him playing "The Old Man" in the sequel to A Christmas Story, My Summer Story. That movie seems to have been nearly erased from history.

I absolutely loved him in "Rosemary's Baby." He was also hilarious with Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn in "Seems like Old Times." That was just a great film. In addition, he was fantastic in "Midnight Run." That is one of my all-time favorite films. He and Robert De Niro were fantastic together! Years ago, I got his autograph through the mail. He thanked me for wanting to have his autograph. No, in reality, it was my pleasure! He was always a top-notch actor!

I remember that! Sorry to hear of his passing.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Damn, I was only watching a re-run of a classic The Tonight Show episode from the 70s last week on which he was the guest.

Great actor. He's gone to that giant Petrox oil tanker in the sky.

Always liked him, but his appearances on Letterman and Midnight Run are the two things I most fondly remember him for.
