Expectations are indeed the devil, but I just don't get the choices made on the tunic… dumb down the studs on the collar and Pacman design the armor? Trying too hard to look toyetic?

I see where you're coming from with the armor, but the collar looks fine to me.
I'm glad they didn't go with the old gold and purple stylings of the original figure.
I wonder if he'll be armed with an actual ape style pistol? A sub-machine gun would be great, but I'm not counting on it.
^^ The original collar studs were closer to the actual design, just seems odd given all they needed to do was add the glyph. The armor is the worst of the two design choices. Most of us find the vintage versions endearing, but it's the 21st Century and I see these as blown (perhaps the last in Mego) opportunities to get it right after so many years. Mego doesn't seem to be investing much in accessories, so I'd be happily surprised to get either of the great General's weapons. That addition alone, if done well, would prompt many more sales.

Reason: …superstar Gorilla power!
I'm excited about the tunic. Ursus did have a unique lamellar armor thing on his torso and arms. I noticed Urko wore the helmet, collar and gloves on the show but he didn't wear the aforementioned armor. I bet it was too heavy or otherwise uncomfortable. The next time I saw the armor vest thingy was in Archer Fugitive from the Empire! The original sculpt could work if the painting is improved I think.

True about the original figure's collar studs being more accurate, in size and amount of them on the collar, however, since they added the hieroglyphic, I can overlook the studs being bigger than they should
