I always thought he was good on "The Rifleman".

I also like the way he and Chuck Connors kept in touch with each other thru the years, even after "The Rifleman" was no longer making new episodes.

I’m watching my favourite episode as I read this. Gunfire season 4 with Lon Chaney as the villain. Cool story

I enjoy The Rifleman. Crawford was appealing and had a genuine quality that shown in his acting and how he interacted with fans. I'm unfamiliar with his singing. RIP.

Me-TV had a brief tribute to the late Johnny Crawford during tonight's The Rifleman. R.I.P.

On the Rifleman, he was probably the most realistic character in any TV Western

Yea, to a fan of action and violence his character probably came off as a weakling

But people with a depth more than skin-deep got him for what he was --- a modern today guy in a "what would you do?" situation

Crawford was great in The Rifleman, which has become my favorite of the classic TV westerns. He and Connors had a great father son chemistry, and Crawford's portrayal was genuine, and not cloying like many child actors of the time. RIP.
