i love the new sculpts, just got mine yesterday. McCoy is really pale, but it's certainly no deal breaker for me. has anyone tried a quick RIT dye bath to give a better skin tone? i've seen people painting the head but i don't want to do that

I added to another thread, but this is better!
I have no idea what colour(s) to use with Rit, my green Peggy was so dark...
Anyway, I tried red plasti dip spray.
One coat and 24hrs got me a decent hue. I transferred the head to a Richie figure (for my improved Mirror McCoy). It matches pretty well, I might give it one more go... the body, I think the arms have improved, but I’m leaving the hands a bit longer, as they are visible with a shirt on. Thanks for the idea from the degreying threads

I think Mego and the sculptures have, for the most part, done a really good job at striking a balance between the cartoonish charm of the classic 70's Megos and the detail that is doable today. The new Trek sculpts are outstanding and I really hope that new 14 inch Kirk sculpt makes it to an 8 inch body.

Whats the story with the eyebrows on the 8" Kirk? Any fix suggested?
Seems like it can possibly be fixed, or used as a custom for Tholian Web Romulan Kirk.

I can't believe Mego dropped the ball like this
I hope there will be a running change, I'd hate to have to hand draw the correct department insignia.

Honestly, the simplest solution is to just pick up an original Mego Kirk head on eBay. For $8.00 to $10.00 you can find a pretty mint kirk head. I've done this to ALL my new Mego Kirk's.

Thanks for sharing (especially for those who avoid Facebook, like me).

The decision to offer replacements speaks volumes about Mego as a company and its priorities. I own both Burham and McCoy, and they are otherwise terrific figures. I know to some that will be like saying, "Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?" But whatever... you can tell these weren't phoned in. The sculpts are great, the outfits are nice, etc. So I'm glad they are going the extra mile to resolve these factory issues and make things right with their customers.

Pass it on to the powers that be that that is class, stand up move. Good to see a company that actually cares about the product they put out and the satisfaction of their customers. Now I can take my McCoy, put red dots on his face and hook him up with the Salt Vampire
