I was thinking the other day about how much I loved Topps and Donruss non-sports
bubblegum cards as a kid. I don't think I ever had a complete set.
By the time my allowance would enable me to buy enough packs they were already gone from the store.
So then I got to thinking about sets I wish they would have made, and of course number one on my list was the MOTU movie from 1987.
There were some cards based on the Filmation series, but not the movie. So, I decided to make my own set!
It took a lot of trial and error, but I wanted to recreate the kind of poor print quality from back then, and how the cards would appear on the old pulpy card stock.
I'm pretty happy with the results so far. An entire 88 card set plus stickers is in the works.
Of course they won't be printed as actual cards, but I can enjoy the images. Hope you do too!
I'll be doing the backs as well, and maybe even a puzzle!
