Craftmaster Poster Art Sets Catalog from 1979

Poster and marker sets were one of my favourite ways to spend an afternoon as a kid (cause that’s about how long the markers would last). Craftmaster had all the best licenses in the late 70s which included Star Wars and arch-rival Battlestar Galactica, Super hunk John Travolta, Fantasy Island, and the Love Boat. These […]

I'm glad you mentioned how quick the markers dried out in these. You had to have a box of Crayola markers standing by to finish these out, and the hues never matched. But they were fun! And yeah, the artwork on all of this is just gorgeous. Really beautiful stuff. Someone should do an art book of these.

I had the Farrah poster art when I was a kid. I thought it was released by Craft Master, but it says, Craft House. They were similar in size and look.
I remember seeing The Love Boat and Fantasy Island posters lingering in the stores for a long time. I didn't want them, and I don't think the were big sellers.
Of course, now I would get one because I'm a bit nostalgic for old TV shows I grew up with.

Wow, they kept Farrah's very visible nipples in on a kids craft kit. Ah, the 70s.

Awesome. Spent a lot of time with the Star Wars sets.

Absolutely loved these. I had a few KISS ones I adored. Being able to recreate my own versions of those cool album covers sated my young artist itch.
            WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.

I had the Star Wars ones.
Loved that 3D Vader one. I added a back to that, and wore it as a helmet.

I vaguely remember some Kiss ones, that I had as well.

Man, I would love to see some Iron Maiden album covers done like this now. I would be all over that.

Going through my storage shed, I forgot I still had these SeaQuest DSV poster/Pen set. I bought them back when SeaQuest was on and even sold them at conventions. I tried to use the pens and the do not turn out like the picture.

Yes, the markers were cheap and not ideal for coloring large areas. I keep thinking how great my Farrah poster would've looked if I used Prismacolor art markers... that is, if I had them back then.
