    Question Regarding Pricing - Robin & Spider-Man

    Hello,

I've been collecting for 26 years now and am finally going to add some Mego loose items to my collection.

I have the MegoMuseum pages for detecting authentic accessories and bodies for both Robin and Spider-Man that I'll be referring to, but I'm wondering if any regular collectors/sellers can give me an idea of what a decent, loose, complete version of each should run when I finally start hunting.

    Thanks!

I have a nice loose Robin on ebay now. I'd give you the link, but I don't want this to be an ad. I expect he'll go for between $50-$70. Spider-Man, also a very common figure, would be a little less as he has no accessories to worry about.

By looking in some price guides, which are a bit dated:

        Spiderman (loose in mint condition):
        Warman's Action figures field guide (2006): $35-$40
Mego Action Figure Toys 3th edition (2001): $15-$25
        Toys&Prices 14th Edition (2007): $20

Robin Hood (loose in mint condition):
Mego Action Figure Toys 3e edition (2001): $100
        Toys&Prices 14th Edition (2007): $100

I just bought a Robin Hood in Europe in MIB condition.

I appreciate the reply and will make a note. Although I'm going to be looking for Robin, not Robin Hood.

I really appreciate you looking that up again.

Yeah, it seems like the earlier comment of $50-70 seems on target. Maybe even $80 considering how long its been.

Doing research on eBay, it seems like the rare auctions hit that target, but there's a vendor seemingly pumping out Robins at $110-125 a clip with Buy It Now. Crazy. I will say I've done no further research to confirm the authenticity of the accessories on any of them, but if assuming all are authentic, the price disparity is nuts.

Depending on which version of each - but I would think a standard type 2 Robin $75 and Spider-Man $35.

In case anyone comes across this down the road. Yesterday the auction mentioned above, which was a very good/excellent example with only (IMO) a repro symbol, went for $86.

There's a also currently a similar quality Type 1 Spider-Man with days left and already up to $41.

It's subjective to a degree, but yeah those estimates seem to ring true. The Robin w/ plastic belt though going for over $80, we'll see if that trend continues. Looks like only 2 people duked it out at that price. Future auctions can easily settle back to $50-60. Although, with Buy It Now (the bane of collector's on eBay), future sellers may squeeze supply further by seeing that result and not budging off top dollar. We'll see.

The Robin that went for $86 was mine, and I was surprised. It's a very nice loose figure, but was in storage in a box of stuff to sell when I got around to it for close to 20 years. I figured if I got $50, I'd be happy. Robin's aren't hard to find.

I know, I was the one that pushed the winning bidder to $86. I bid $85. :D

Robin's are common, but not in that condition and conveniently complete. Outside of the small mark on the glove and repro logo (IMO and I don't mind repro on that), it looked great. I figured I'd push my max a little since it was so good, no other figure up right now matches it, and I'm impatient when my collecting budget has money in it again.

Didn't think I'd have competition, but there you go. I'm sure another example of that quality will present itself.

The type 1 versions of each will be more - but standard versions of type 1 and type 2 are common.

The standard Robin is higher priced because of the accessories.

There are some pretty expensive variations of each of these too.
