NECA Flash and Ming - photo review

Getting these two were high on my list after hearing the news from NECA. They did not disappoint.

Ming comes with a nicely detailed staff.

All three figures (including Phantom) share the same extensive articulation, including ab crunch.

The paint detail on Ming is especially impressive.

All three of these figures share the same gun and shooting blast, both short and long range.

In addition to the gun and effects, both Ming and Flash have their own swords.

Ming has tremendous detail throughout his outfit, much of which is molded rubber.

Flash can engage his friends or foes with quite the gun fire for dynamic displays.

But the biggest surprise came from Ming himself. His cape is wired, so you can pose it in any dramatic position you wish.

And here are their display boxes , both front and back.

So far a very nice series. I'm happy to add these in particular to my Flash Gordon collection.

Yummy. Still hope to find these.

Ming is a beauty, I'm impressed with how clean the paint apps are.

^Agreed. I just saw the Fwoosh's video review of the MaeFX Hush Superman, and the paint apps were very sloppy for a $80 action figure. This $30 has way more paint apps, and looks much better!

I found a full display today and was thrilled for sure. probably my most desired line to get since last year. what detail like Ming's ,flash's sword and a five oclock shadow on the phantom.

I think i have a wolf figure from game of thrones i can use for devil, and maybe try to dig out a white horse from lord of the rings to use.

Been to eight different Wal-Marts in the last two days looking for these and couldn't find a single figure.

I stopped by a little shop near where my wife works that specializes in second hand electronics and collectibles (everything form TVs, DVD/bluray to vintage vinyl, action figures, Star Wars toys and what not. I hadn't been in about a year, and in the mean time they have gotten an account with NECA and had the first wave of Defenders of the Earth in store at retail today. I wasn't expecting it, and didn't have the budget to get all three, but I did pick up the Ming figure while I was there. It is magnificent.
