John Wayne vs Clint Eastwood

Who is your fav ?

I'd have to pick John Wayne --- he's just so dang cool and likable

I'll give Clint Eastwood the credit he is due as being the grandfather of all revisionist western movie heroes, but most are not my cup of tea.

In comparison - I'd say John Wayne is the Superman of Westerns and Clint Eastwood is the Batman of Westerns.

BTW, just watched Hang 'em High and El Dorado in the same day and El Dorado was just so much more fun and entertaining.

My Dad was a Clint man, so I am too. I respect the hell out of Wayne, but Clint's westerns are just more my cup of tea, for the most part. I do particularly love The Shootist, though. My favorite Eastwood western is The Outlaw Josey Wales.

Wales is my favorite one too. favorite western too, in fact. I like John Wayne, but his movies are really old and slow for me. Clint is definitely more my cup of tea. The Shootist was good but that was when Wayne was an old man already. Last movie he made I think.

For westerns only, I’d go with John Wayne. They are two of my favorites. I’ve liked John Wayne more and more as I’ve gotten older.

John Wayne was America’s icon, his westerns I’ll admit were more talk than action, but classics nonetheless. I would love to see new mego come out with a westerns collection of figures, including Wayne and Eastwood.

My dad also instilled his deep appreciation, which definitely rubbed off as we watched westerns together.

I think *the Josey Wales* has been playing somewhere on Comcast every single day for what seems like decades too!
