I don't recall diners at K-Mart, but I do recall the lunch counters and restaurants at Woolworths.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Loved the K-Mart and Woolworth eateries. Still went to the K-Mart one until they closed the diner section when I was in my early 20’s. Still remember brown tables and orange chairs.

My local K-mart diner was still open as recently as 2010-ish

Had a side door entrance so you didn't need to enter through the store.

        Good food and good people

My overriding memory of the K-Mart eateries was the smell of freshly popped popcorn as everyone I went to had a popcorn machine. You could smell it in the store several aisles away before you even saw the eatery space.

Most of the K-Mart diners around here were replaced with Little Cesar's. I'm sure I've talked about this before, the Newberry's in Cooperstown was the same way. Had both a counter and booths. They had the drink machines too.

Ahhh, Newberry's …… My town, Stroudsburg PA was the birthplace of JJ Newberrys.

Today the building is a refurbished hotel/restaurant --- unfortunately nobody seems to remember them except for me

That's cool, it is great seeing all the diner talk.

I have clear pictures in my mind of the places now.

I also started to think how it was a big thing when they replaced Howard Johnson's with McDonalds along the turnpike.

                Juice machines are really great.

We had one set up, a two beverage machine, inside a small shed, that had power, in the country.

The ants found it one day, so we just switched to keeping distilled water in there.

I remember our Woolworth at the Maine Mall had one of those little lunch counters in the 70s and 80s too. I don't recall ever eating there, though. I used to love going to Woolworth and looking for cheap toys. I picked a whole bunch of those great Marvel Comics Video Library (with the 60s and 70s Marvel cartoons on them) vhs tapes they had in the 80s too (like the photo below). I bought like 20 or so of them.

Our town had a Newberry's. Until today I thought it was just a local thing. I had no idea. They did have a lunch counter. A drugstore across the street had one too. Our Newberry's closed in the early 80s and was replaced with a Sundry Store. It was only open for maybe 5 years and went out, and since then the building has been so many things, I can't keep up.

All Vanilla Pop Tarts with Vanilla Frosting and Pop Tarts plain with Vanilla inside. I have not seen them in decades but they just about make every other flavors under the sun and over the moon. If you find these in your local supermarkets or anywhere, please let me know.
