When I first saw this figure, I really wondered how this would be packaged and what the marketing angle would be given who it was and the traditional target audience for this subject. It was probably the first time (ever) when my curiosity of packaging outranked the actual product. I ordered him with great fascination, and found FTC created an approach that was quite original.
He came in a singular clamshell that was more reminiscent of what they were doing with their 12 inch series...
What proceeded to fascinate me was the inner container which mimicked a stain glass window! I found this very inventive and quite striking.
The figure itself was well crafted in the tradition. I thought they did a good job of capturing the classic image very well from sculpt to robe.
His shoes are done quite well but are extremely snug. If you wish to remove them, I strongly encourage some heated water to soften the plastic for a stress free removal.
With all of that said, I have to be completely transparent here and say, I saw an absolutely perfect and effortless custom with a minimum of updates. What can I say? Too much heaven?
