Tootie's Hair: Is her head fully rooted?

I'm thinking about taking out Tootie's pigtails and restyling it. Has anyone here done that before? Before I do it, I just want to make sure her head is fully rooted. I once bought a cheap "dollar store" doll, but when I undid her ponytail, I was surprised to see that she had a "comb over" and she was not fully rooted and was bald underneath.

I just unrooted her and she is not fully rooted if I get what you mean as in she only has root holes around the edge of the scalp and down the center in a line. Her head is really soft when you boil her though so you could do that and add extra holes. I am using her to make a Lt Uhura movie version which I why I just did it!
