Probably because they're mainly geared for kids to play with, but adult Alien collectors will snap 'em up as well. They are toys after all.

The NECA Aliens scratch the itch for the collectors that want more realistic sculpts and colors.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

Everytime I'm at Walmart I see that purple queen and think: I should buy that and repaint it. If I catch it on clearance I probably will. It looks awesome but purple, uhh nah.

My 6 year old nephew informed me of this as he put in in the cart at Walmart this afternoon. He then said "Uncle Bubba the red one can be the King Alien" so how can I argue with that logic.

There based on the 1990 Konami released licensed arcade game based on the hit film Aliens that came in different colors.

Hard to argue with an expert on the subject
