ReMego Svengoolie presents The Beast From 20,000 Fathom (1953)

This Saturday Night on MeTV Svengoolie presents The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms:

As a result of an arctic nuclear test, a carnivorous dinosaur thaws out and starts making its way down the east coast of North America. Professor Tom Nesbitt, only witness to the beast's existence, is not believed, even when he identifies it as a "rhedosaurus" to paleontologist Thurgood Elson. All doubts disappear, however, when Elson is swallowed whole during an oceanic bathysphere excursion to search for the creature. Soon thereafter the rhedosaurus emerges from the sea and lays waste to Manhattan Island until Nesbitt comes up with a plan to try to stop the seemingly indestructible beast. (imdb)

The ReMego scene is from the beginning where the scientist discovers the awakening of the Rhedosaurus

I went with the Action Jackson Ski Patrol but added to cotton around the head. The icebergs are from Bandai Zak Storm Sino Island Playsets repainted.

Great job again as usual, I was wondering how you were going to put this one together? I always wanted a Rhedosaurus model and found one a little ways back on ebay, but was pretty expensive, so they must be rare. I thought this was one of the better U.S. made 50’s sci-if monster movies, with great stop motion photography.

I decided to go with just printing out the head of the Rhedosaurus and putting it behind the iceburgs. Then used my original Action Jackson in his Ski Patrol outfit and just attached cotton to its hood to look more like the press photo...

First of all, that looks fantastic--I really like it.

Second, for what scale is the Sino Island playset? Because I'm thinking I need one!

They fit in with the 3 3/3inch figures....

My nephew uses them for his Artic Octonauts set, I just spray painted them to look more like real icebergs. After thinking about it one would work great in Penguins Iceberg lounge....

Nice job! Love the creative re-purposing of that playset.

Iceberg Lounge, yes--and Imaginext Mr. Freeze/Penguin. Thanks for the clarification.

Love when you do Harryhausen movies… such fertile ground for past/future Megos.

The Billiken Rhedosaurus is really nice, and now HTF and pricey. Think I read a while back that X-Plus has a new one coming out, but they don't do cheap either.
