    1974 Kusan Halloween Catalog

Kusan may not be as well known as Ben Cooper or Collegeville for Halloween and they certainly didn’t get the “A” licenses but they sure knew how to create some innovative and highly creative costumes. Not only is their assortment fun but their catalog is just a wonderfully well designed affair, every page just […]

Wow, that is a very nicely designed catalog! I honestly don't recall seeing any of those costumes, but I was born in 1974, so they may have been phased out by the time I would have remembered.

Did Kusan stay in business long?

      OK 4 notes-

1- I love that all you have to do make a menacing creature cute and friendly is "Lil'" to it. I look forward to the Lil' Serial Killer and Lil' Cannibal costumes.
2-How did they make those mask create ghostly sounds? I get how the kazoo ones work, but what did they put on the ghostly sounds masks
3- Are these really adult size versions of the vinyl jumpsuit and elastic-banded mask?
4- David Cassidy?!? Can I use that to pick up chicks in 1974?

The report didn't say WHY some parents wanted to ban trick or treating. I thought it might be the devil's holiday thing, but it looks like they will let them celebrate satan at the local Y.

Either way, I enjoyed seeing the inside of the store in '75. There was even a Korg costume. I remember the show, but I don't think I saw any epsiode.

Pretty excited to see this catalogue, because I didn't know until now the origin of the uniquely-designed monster costumes that have stuck in my memory since childhood. Kusan Famous Halloween Costumes! Other unique offerings, throughout, fun stuff.

I love the idea of Mego customs of Halloween costumes.
