Yeah ,I really like pickled beets but regular ones, less so. Doesn't vinegar make so many things taste a little better?

The question is Mikey, are you that rarefied connoisseur that also likes mustard pickled eggs?

I don't know how pervasive that style is nationally, I've always assumed it was a German-Amish thing.

I have hated beets since I was a kid. But don’t mind the pickled eggs without beets.

            Now try Balut, Mikey...

                Never tried mustard style eggs...

Growing up in the Amish-Pickled-Beet-Belt i'm only familiar with beet, onion, vinegar and sugar style pickling.

Hec, how could you not like beets ?

For us Poles, beets are like your Pinto beans

Mexicans eat a lot of beets too. I just never liked them. They make me gag, lol. My sister loves them though.

                    Beets in Spanish is BETABEL.

I did a little internet research, supposedly they originated in Lancaster, PA Amish country and they're common in my area, too which is near Ohio's largest Amish community.

I don't like them as well as with pickled beets, but they're easier to make because you only need pantry items and onions.

                          Beets are an acquired taste

When I first had them as a kid I thought they tasted like stagnant pond water

Today I still think that, but in a good way
