    Alfred 1989

I have been watching the Burton Batman movies a lot these past weeks as I've been working on my customs. I almost forgot how charming and important Michael Gough's Alfred is in those movies. So I really want to include a custom 1989 Alfred, but I knew I would have to make it from scratch.

This is my first attempt at digital sculpting. While it is far from perfect, I think it is in the ballpark... which is frankly better than I expected.

I don't know a thing about digital sculpting, but what I can say is this....I can easily recognize that as Alfred!

Thanks all. I had been staring at it for so long, I could quite trust myself anymore. My 10-year old daughter did point out that I had Alfred's eye color wrong (they should be grey-green)... which made me a proud dad. She has an eye for detail!

I ran a test print of the head and put it on a kitbash to make sure everything was in scale. The print lost some of the fine wrinkles... but that was not unexpected. Things are slowly coming together.

Nice! Love the process shots… are you printing the glasses too?

There's a need for much better 1/9 eye wear and gear… styles of glasses, goggles, telescopes, monocle, binocs, etc.

Yes, I am 3d printing the eyeglasses. This project involves 3 distinct styles of glasses for Bruce Wayne, Alfred, and Vicki Vale. The frames are less than a millimeter thick, so they are incredibly delicate... but at least they match the style worn by the characters and do not look comically large.

Wow, that is coming out GREAT. If you had put that kit-bashed figure you have so far in a thread to itself, with no name in the title, I would still know that is Gough as Alfred.

                        It is really coming along.
Luv seeing those 3d printers being used for Mego customs.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

                          Finally finished this one:

Here's another Burton Batman custom I made. This time it is the amazing Michael Gough as Alfred Pennyworth. Alfred's head and glasses were 3d modeled and printed by me. In the Burton movies, his costume ranges from formal tuxedo to apron to sweater... but after careful analysis, I settled on this "straight tie +

Really good likeness, what a great pair. Have you considered a scale bowl of cold potato soup ala Batman Returns?
