    Headless Horseman custom

I was looking forward to the Mego Headless Horseman, but outside of the initial Target release, availability for anything else (Shazam?) has been spotty.

My Wal-Mart had some Lord of the Rings characters sadly peg warming, though. While looking at the Halloween decorations, I realized maybe I could customize a Headless Horsemen from Viggo.

To make a cloak, I picked up a cheap fright mask from Dollar General that had black fabric backing. The fabric had a seam, so I didn't have to worry about any sewing or gluing. I cut a small hole in the seam's end and put the neck peg through it.

Once I settled on the face design I wanted for my characterization, I experimented with cutting the Jack O'Lantern features in with an X-Acto. I ended up just pressing into the soft foam with a fine line Sharpie.

It needed a pop of color, though. Luckily, I found a small, green paper clip that I wrapped around the stem to evoke a vine.

I hope you enjoy! I put the Aragorn head on eBay, if anyone wants to customize a Jesus Mego, LOL

He looks great! I always find great and inexpensive custom fodder this time of year in the Halloween aisles.

Very nicely done, looks very Mego like. I went to my local Target a couple of days ago to check out the Halloween section, and to my surprise they were selling boxes of the monster cereals, not in the cereal or grocery section, but in the Halloween costumes, decorations and candy section, I got a box of Frankenberry, kind of unexpectedly made my day.

Thank you. You know, I think a box of Boo-Berry floated into my cart during my last shopping trip, as well.
