    Forgotten Mascots

The Ty-D-Bol Man! Came across this guy in some random search results and, being a dork, I started thinking about the forgotten mascots of my childhood. Nesquik Bunny... Mrs. Olson... Does the Kool-Aid Man get any ad time these days (outside of parodies)? Maybe Mego should doing old mascot figures.

Who do you recall pushing products back in the day that have gone by the wayside?

    WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.

I'm not sure they're passe (perhaps just seasonal) but I loved the Monster Cereal guys and they'd make great Megos.

Is Charlie the Tuna or the Hawaiian Punch guy still around?
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

I think Charlie is still on packaging, but I don't know that Starkist does much advertising at all these days. At least that I've seen, anyway.

I think Punchy may have been dropped due to concerns about violence. Did you know the guy he punched also had a name- Oaf.

^After I posted, I saw that in an article that also mentioned the Noid, W.C Fritos, etc. I don't recall the punching.

I'm just gonna assume that Morris the Cat is no longer with us.

According to Wikipedia, the original Morris died in 1978. RIP, Morris. RIP.

I would definitely buy a mego Twinkie the Kid and Fruit Pie Magician, I would be the envy of all my friends.

I think the Ty-D-Bol man would be an easy custom.

Crunch Berry Beast and Jean LaFoote.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

And so begins the great Ding Ding vs Ding Dong debate!!

Actually, I think Ring Ding was the name of a non-Hostess version of their Ding Dong. Yep. That guy is called King Ding Dong. The Yodel was a Drake's product. The Hostess version is called Ho Ho's and that Robin Hood looking guy is Happy Ho Ho.

I remember Jack in the Box had a lil band of pals in the 70's.

The "original" Jack, the Onion Ring Thing, the Secret Sauce Agent, the Hamburgermeister, and Small Fry.
