And Hostess also packaged the same snack with the same flavors under the name Big Wheels. Instead of King Ding Dong, the mascot was Chief Big Wheels.

I don't recall those, but I remember the corresponding orange cupcakes.

What about Raspberry Zingers? I loved those.

^Ooh, I loved Raspberry Zingers! For some reason, you could rarely find those in stores, but they stocked them in the vending machine at the factory where my Dad worked. Every so often Dad would bring my sister and I one home from work in his lunch box.

The Peanuts characters were on some of the packaging I remember. I think they were tied into Dolly Madison back then, like Butternut bread.

This finicky ba5tard was the O.G. of commercial mascots from my childhood.

^That might be it. I could be misremembering. I do know there was a polar bear in the ad.

                    Ronald McDonald -- no kidding

I read McDonalds retired him because of the "creepy clown" phase

I remember being haunted by the existence of snack food with Peanuts for mascots. For years, I remember being teased in the during the open to Peanuts specials. After the spinning "Special" swirled on to my TV screen, the announcer would say it was brought to you by Dolly Madison. In Philly, we did not have this temptress named Dolly Madison!! It wasn't until we moved to Arizona for 8 months that I discovered Dolly Madison snack cakes. Unfortunately, the Peanuts mascots had been dropped for some time.
                        WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.
