Two of my vintage original Star Trek figures are missing the foil and vinyl insignia from their shirts. A long time ago, I made them replacements using adhesive foil called baremetal foil that is used in scale models. I picked up a Spock last weekend that had the same issue. He is otherwise an excellent figure. I made him the same flat-looking insignia. Then yesterday while on a long car ride, I started to come up with a new way to make these using adhesive vinyl. The goal was to try to imitate the look of the original - raised from the shirt, sunken in the middle, and higher edges. I used 2 pieces of vinyl stuck to each other. The one piece of vinyl is cut carefully to form the raised edge. Then covered with baremetal foil. Let me know what you think of the results.
