    Wilford Brimley RIP

We lost another great last night! I was a HUGE fan of Brimley! What an extraordinary actor! Whether he was in "Cocoon" "Tender Mercies" "The Natural" "The Firm" or my all-time favorite of his: "The Thing" he did it all! What a great actor........he was 85. Fortunately, he was always a very gracious through-the-mail signer. Thus, I got his autograph years ago.

Another guy I thought had already passed. What's crazy, is he was only 85. The guy perpetually looked old, like Abe Vigoda. A talented throwback actor and a real cowboy at heart.

I thought he was great in Remo Williams...I just watched The Firm on Friday and he had a good part in that movie as well. RIP

I’m gonna eat a hot bowl of oatmeal in his honor.

He did seem perpetually "old", but when I first saw him in a film, probably "Cocoon", he was only slightly older than I am now! Our family watched his TV series, "Our House" too, with former Electra Woman, Dedrie Hall.

Everyone knew he had a certain authoritative gravitas about him, hence his firm spokesman roles for Quaker Oats, and diabetes-related programs.

            RIP.

Great actor, consistently entertaining, made every role he played instantly memorable. R.I.P.
