Crowe is the only guy who could have played Zod and gave an equal performance to Stamp. He has the accent and playing a general would have been a great rift on Maximus. All that was needed was a scene of him leading a Kryptonian army, and the audience grasps it's "Superman v Gladiator". Instead, we get the Brooklyn Kid and his veneers while Crowe plays a dead scientist.
