You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
This looks nice and is clearly a prototype (the S Symbols are photoshopped) but I can't believe the price. I can't recall the exact price of the Hot Toys Superman, but I remember it wasn't THAT much more than this. I know I passed on it at some point at this same price.
Very exciting news! Looking forward to upgrading to this 1:12 version. It will be interesting to see which body type Mezco uses for this figure or if they introduce a new body altogether. The head sculpt shown in the prototype photo does look great. It's nice to see Mezco are tackling more film versions of the DC characters. I had been eagerly awaiting the 1:12 1989 Batman, which apparently doesn't include an identity head of Bruce Wayne with Michael Keaton's likeness.

I have the Hot Toys Reeve figure, and I remember it being around $210.
I was a bit shocked by the price of the Mezco, but you are getting a light up Fortress base, so that adds to the cost. I don't like seeing these things go up like this, but I only dip my toe in occasionally. This will be my second 1:12 figure.

Yeah I just can't jive with that price tag. 1:12 figures are nice, but they started at $50.
From looking at the product photos, the prototype appears to have a slimmer body than the first Superman made by Mezco. I know it could be an illusion from certain camera angles, but I would certainly welcome a slimmer athletic body with better articulation than the Joker/Star Trek figures they made.
