Samurai Efforts?

Just wondering if anyone has rocked-out a Mego Samurai?… not the superhero(es), I'm talking feudal Japan.

I'm considering adding this to my projects list, and thinking full head/armor sculpts, but it would interesting/educational/respectful to see how others may have navigated this otherwise complicated figure.

If nothing else, is there anything from the Fighting Furies set (or other toy) worth re-purposing or a good source for properly scaled swords?

The FF set is pretty great as i recall, the figures are 8" tall more or less, so they're a good fit.
