Vintage Mego: The Mangler from Comic Action Heroes

This week Vintage Mego unboxed The Mangler, released by Mego in 1976 as part of their Comic Action Heroes line of toys, it has the distinction of being one of the weirdest Superhero toys ever produced. Seriously, what is this thing? Wouldn’t it kill the Green Goblin? We’ll never truly know. Join our online Mego…

Is the green really that vibrant? Hurts my eyes looking at that video

It might be reacting with the lights but yeah it's pretty bright.

I'm amazed the Nerf rollers lasted this long. That one is in really nice condition.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I should have mentioned in the video that the rollers are prone to rotting. These things were not meant to be curated.

Passing on a boxed Mangler of these remains one of my painful "the one that got away" memories. Some day.

I love the font on the price sticker- Juvenile Sales Co. I've always assumed this was a Goblin vehicle (and he brought it to the scene) since it was green and included a Goblin figure.

For whatever reason, I was a bit obsessed with the Green Goblin in the mid-'70s and really wanted this when I saw it in the comics. I did get a CA Goblin but not the weird but nonetheless cool Mangler. I always thought it was Gobby's vehicle and Spidey used it against him.

Nice to see it in action.

I've been after The Mangler since I was six years old.
One day... I shall acquire it!

I have vague memories of this. Since it was Spider-Man/Goblin related if I had been a little older, probably would have begged for it.

I always love seeing Mego vehicles, I had both Spidey and Goblin but not this, wish I did.
