    Mego/Popy Devilman V.9

    Been a couple years since I made one, and still haven't finished V.4 (Glow-in-the-Dark) yet, but here comes number 9…

    Metallic red base on the head and a two-tone shimmering design with iridescent antique silver accents across the body.

    Not nearly as pretty in these photos, but you get the idea.

          Exactly, an homage to the history of a toy captured in playwear… I kept thinking about a worn Popy Ultraman or an old Bullmark sofubi.

          Ed motivated me to get back to these projects with his crazy run of recent (excellent!) customs, so there's more (with a little luck the Fiend gets done today) to come.

          Thank Meule, I forgot how much I liked that sculpt too… based it on the original Go Nagai manga with a smirk on his face. Much of the early Devilman drawings are asymmetrical, unlike his move to anime where he's super slick in design. I like the weird energy of the drawings much more.
