    ReMego Svengoolie presents Gargoyles (1972)

This Saturday night on MeTV, Svengoolie is rebroadcasting the 1972 Gargoyles movie:

After receiving word about a mysterious skeleton unearthed in the Arizona desert, a father and his daughter visit the man who has it and grab the skull as they escape a shack the gargoyles have attacked.Once they do so, they, as well as the town, are besieged by a colony of gargoyles living in some nearby caverns.

Time to check in with ReMego stage:

I am NOT happy with this figure. I rewatched the movie today and they cannot make up there mind what color the Gargoyle King is (brown/tan, olive green, to brown/green). I wanted to go with olive green but the only store that sells paint in my town (Walmart) has been out for a month. They are finally starting to restock it so hopefully buy Sat I can repaint him. His outfit his another problem. I order it from CTVT Dark green onsie. It was more emerald green but the outfit was not done right at all, seemed like it was twisted. I tried my best to darken it. Next time I am going grey for any and all gargoyles.

Gargoyle looks good to me. I agree that the green should be more olive.

Yeah, I still popped in from time to time, but I figured it's time I came out of the shadows again...
My 9 year old boy has discovered my Megos and pretty much confiscated everything that wasn't on display... All my loose bodies, suits, boots, parts and whatnot and started customizing on his own...
We're waiting on a big order from CTVT to do some more customs for him... And I might get cracking on my Batman 1966 customs again...

Here were screen shots I had to go on, it seemed like a different color job every time he showed up. I used the New Mego Frankenstein body with the CTVT Dracula head with plenty of clay to re do him. If I had another Nosferatu I would have used that as the base body, but I cannot find him on the shelves down here. The wings came from Disney Gargoyles figure. The fur is yarn bee fur the moment huskey. It is some strange yarn that worked.

I plan on redoing this figure, this time I will just start with a white onesie and dye it myself into olive green.

Well thanks for the kind words, it funny when I am unsure and come close to not posting about a figure I get good feedback.

Looks good to me, great custom figure. Looking at the face close up pic from the movie, it sort of has a slight mego Green Goblin type look.

I had thought about trying to find a cast of Green Goblin but that's a lot of dremeling to remove the hat and being that close to the ears I was afraid I would cut them off. There is NO way I would buy an original Mego GG to cut up either. I did the best I could with what I had. Somebody needs to come up with more monster heads for us customizers.

Since my local Walmart is still really low on supplies, I will try again Friday since I go to pick up my nephew for the weekend. There is a bigger Walmart, Michaels and if I have too there is Hobby Lobby all in the same shopping center.

I think this is pretty fantastic! I could see an olive version, or using a Goblin head, burt this is great. I could also see reworking a cast of CTVT's Devil into a gargoyle. I"ve always liked this TV movie.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Here is a better shot at the face. Since Svengoolie will air this episode again, I have the time to rework him once supplies are back on the shelf. Talk about problems keep getting bigger, my Wal-Mart is out of the ink I use on my printer, so next week when I take my nephew back to his parents house I get to try and find ink on top of other items my town is out of.
